IF ELECTED I WILL GIVE 100% of MY PAY BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
I love Frankfort. I could have chosen to live anywhere but this is where I chose to call home and raise my kids. I believe we are in an exciting time in Frankfort, We are on the cusp of something really big.
It's true, I'm going to take every paycheck as City Commissioner and donate it back to the community. Any project that will affect Frankfort positively will be a candidate for funds. One hundred percent of my pay will be payed forward.
I've been in Frankfort for two years, and I've been visiting for twenty. I've watched the progress and lack there of. In the short time I've lived here, I've been a part of a lot of exciting things. From the development of Urban Woods, to bringing murals, helping with River Jam, sitting on the board of Walk Bike Frankfort, volunteering at L.I..F.E. House for Animals (4 years now!), to my biggest pride and joy: Bourbon Street on Broadway, in which I created and directed.
I have always felt a need to bring something to the community I Iive in. Since leaving my career in Biomedical research 13 years ago to be a mom, I never lost my desire to make a difference. I like to get things done and when I say I will do something I do it.
I've lived a lot of places and seen a lot of great cities. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm going to bring concepts that have worked for other communities. There are so many things that we can implement to increase the quality of life for those of us here in Frankfort AND to make us more attractive to families looking to relocate here.. political campaign city commissioner
If you know me then you know I am big on being green. I'm going to do my best to run a clean campaign that doesn't send a bunch of yard signs and unread pamphlets to the landfill at the end of it. Rather than yard signs I'm getting creative with bumper stickers (that peal off cleanly when you want to remove them), pins, on-line ads and even some t-shirts. My logo is one that will be cool to wear long after the elections. Frankfort Strong: it's pretty cool eh?
Investors can bring their money anywhere. If Frankfort puts up roadblocks making investing here a pain, they'll take their money somewhere that doesn't. We NEED to be a friend to investors. We need their money, their jobs and results. We need housing, we need our crumbling historic homes rescued, we need our tax assessments to reflect real value so we can lower our taxes. It's all part of the puzzle that will ultimately make Frankfort all it can be.
Frankfort has a lot going on, but it's going to take people to make it happen. We've got some amazing new pubs, restaurants, and shops coming downtown, we've got some outstanding schools but what we don't have are people to pay for it. We need to pave the way for investors not stand in their way.
Frankfort is a city manager form of government. As commissioner I won't get in the way of our city manager doing his job. He was selected for his ability, he is paid handsomely for his service and I trust his decisions.
We have so much to offer here in Frankfort. As a runner, cyclist, walker, hiker, swimmer etc, I know we can capitalize on our natural assets. I plan to push for more development of them to increase tourism and quality of life here.
